First juvenile winner is just Grand!

23rd April 2012

After Thunderball gave him his first ever Turf success as a trainer at Ripon last week, Scott celebrated another landmark when his first two-year-old runner became a winning one at Windsor's first evening meeting of the season.
Threes Grand, a home-bred daughter of the Dixon family's Group One winner Milk It Mick, gained a short-head verdict in the Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes. She took up the running just over a furlong from home in the hands of Nicky Mackay to beat Uncomplicated at odds of 7-1. Mackay said: "She was rolling about a bit in the end, but was entitled too on such soft ground and should come on a ton for the experience. She's a very promising filly."
