Masked Dance Seals Ascot Double

Friday 11th May 2012

Scott achieved a memorable double on his first ever visit to Ascot as a trainer when Thunderball and Masked Dance landed competitive handicaps. Thunderball, Scott's first ever turf winner at Ripon the previous month, confirmed the form of his slightly unlucky defeat in a big field at Doncaster by taking his division of the £7,000 Exclusive William Buick Blog on At The Races Handicap by a length and a quarter in the hands of Frankel's jockey Tom Queally.
Later, Masked Dance took up the running in the final furlong of the second division of that handicap, again under Queally, to round off a great day for our young trainer and connections. It was a particularly satisfying success by the five-year-old grey, who was bought as a birthday present for owner Susan Morcombe by her husband Alan.
