Pearl may have Royal appointment
Monday 28th May 2012
Exciting two-year-old Pearl Noir could be Royal Ascot bound after finishing second to a highly regarded rival at Leicester today. The son of the Dixon family's own stallion Milk It Mick found only Godolphin's Artigiano too strong in the Pytchley Maiden Stakes over six furlongs.
Always prominent, Pearl Noir confirmed the promise he had shown on debut at Beverley to see off his other nine rivals. Frankie Dettori, who rode the winner for Mahmood Al Zarooni, suggested that the Coventry Stakes at the Royal Meeting could be on the agenda.
