Thunderball Takes Class 2

Friday 26th October 2012

A decent and ultra-competitive sprint handicap. They went hard down the centre of the track and the first five came a little way clear.

THUNDERBALL went for home some way out, but only got up near the finish. He´s been somewhat in-and-out of late, but was 4lb lower than when last winning at Ascot in May and is a confirmed mud-lover. It was the 6yo´s ninth career success.

QUOTES: Scott Dixon, trainer of Thunderball: "He was running like a horse who had gone over the top at Goodwood in August, so we gave him a little break and freshened him up. He´s come back well. He has his own way of running and Silvestre [de Sousa] has ridden him to perfection."
