Boots And Spurs Hangs Up His Racing Shoes

Boots and Spurs has been a firm favourite of the whole team here at Scott Dixon Racing since he was entrusted into our care by his owners Simon and Louise Chappell in October 2015.

Over the last three year Boots or Bootsy as he is known on the yard has given not only his owners but everyone that has come into contact with him some fabulous memories not only at the races but also around the yard.

Boots and Spurs had a wonderful career being rated at his highest 93 and achieving 9 wins , 10 seconds and 9 thirds and earning just under £100,000 with over half of his wins being whilst in our care at Scott Dixon Racing.

Not to mention being crowned the Magnolia Cup Winner at Glorious Goodwood whilst being ridden by Dido Harding and running under the name of Duck and Dumpling in 2017 and almost defending his crown in 2018 coming home a very close second place.

At ten years old Simon and Scott felt that it was now time for Boots to hang up his racing shoes and go on to find his forever home where he can enjoy his retirement, and what better forever home than with Horse Racing presenter Gina Bryce. Gina approached Scott and Becky at Ascot in the summer as her father Colin Bryce had actually owned Boots from being a foal up until Simon purchased him in 2014 and asked that if we were ever to re-home him then herself and her father would like to have him back for Gina to ride at home.

Although the whole team was sad to see Bootsy leave we are so happy that he has gone back to where he started life and will enjoy his retirement with Gina and her family. We all look forward to keeping updated with his adventures.
