Samovar Doubles Up At Southwell

Fantastic to secure Samovar's second career win at Southwell Racecourse yesterday.

Samovar is owned and bred by the Chrystal Maze Partnership, which consists of Andrew and Bernie Baker, Andrew and Sharron Timms and Paul and Yvette Dixon who all own Samovar's Dam Chrystal Venture.

Chrystal Venture has bred many winners for the partnership including Wimboldsley and Krystallite and the partnership currently have 4yo Red Douglas in training who I am sure will join the list of winners in the not so distant future.

Samovar was bred by Yvette Dixon and is sired by stallion Finjaan who stands at Gazeley Stud and it is always that extra little bit more special to see our homebred's winning.

Samovar has shown an incredible attitude to racing in 2018 and has struck up a fantastic partnership with jockey Kieran O'Neil with 6 out of his 7 starts securing 2 wins , 3 seconds and 1 third. He has fantastic determination and definitely loves his racing and is doing his stallion Finjaan proud.

Crosse Fire is another horse on the yard who has really hit his form and is enjoying his racing. He was very unlucky to be beaten yesterday in a photo finish to ever consistent Komander Kirkup.

Crosse Fire's last 5 runs have consisted of 1 win and 4 second places mostly in the feature races at Southwell. I am sure his owners Mr D Lucas, Mr Mahony and Mr Sweeting and Mr Dixon are delighted with the consistency he is showing and are lucking forward to the start of the turf season.
